I have been an associate with Amazon for many years now and I have really never done nothing with it. Yep I played with the a-store features and a few other things, I never really made much with it. I made $10 a few years back promoting a free after rebate item- never much luck after that.

Recently, I put up a vertical banner on my high traffic lingerie website front page with a related search term. You can see it here at www.ladystrange.com. Note: this is the only page it shows up on. I was checking out Big Screen TV’s & laptops for the Christmas List and decided to check out my associate account and Low & Behold I made $6.72 Since October 16 through November 16. None of the products sold have anything to do at all with lingerie. It has something to do with cookies and if someone clicks one of your amazon links and then later that day buys something you get credit for the sale.

I know $6.72 is nothing to write home about but it has given me inspiration to display more Amazon Banners.

Well I am going to tell you little thing about myself. I do not gamble. My Husband and I went to Las Vegas once and gambled $5 in pennies, because if we gambled for 2 hours we got 2 $45 show passes. That is just an example fo how tight I am with money.

I was introduced to the Auto surfing world with a chance encounter with Megalido. I joined, I added my 6 bucks in return I got $8.64, 13 days later. So I began researching other auto surfs and of course their validity. I found out a few facts, yep, they are all ponzi schemes. A Ponzi is when new members upgrades line the pockets of older members, until the point there are no new members are upgrading and the economy falls apart. When the economy falls apart the website dissappears, and whatever investments you have are lost. A good Auto surf will last 3-6 months, very few have made it to a year.

I know the paragraph you read sound pretty negative against auto surfs. The truth is you can still make money with them if you know the nature of the beast. Most webmasters will not talk about auto surfs because of their bad reputation. You can bet there are many webmasters participating in them, and just do not talk about them.

There are number of strategies to avoid loosing in auto surfs.

* Get in and get out. In Megalidos example would be like Investing $120 right away, getiing $172.80 12 days later, then reinvesting just a portion of the earnings so you are already in profit.

* Diversify your auto surf spending into several programs so If you loose at one, you may be able to recoup at another. I am currently investing with these auto surfs Megalido, DailyProfitPond, Surfatom, Frogress. DailyProfitPond being my newest favorite due to the 2 level referral program.

* Do not get Greedy. Keep reinvesting the same amount and keep the interest until you have earned more than you have invested, before considering upgrading again.

*There are many systems people use to try and beat the system and some people play with thousands of dollars.

Here are a few things I look for when joining an Auto surf.

1. How does the site look? Does it look like a 2nd grader designed it? This just shows how much  commitment the webmaster has to make a good program.

2. Block ddos- This is a very expensive protection, that keeps a website from getting hacked

3. How old is this site?, Has almost already run its course? I also read forums at Goldage. DreamTeamMoney, GlobalGoldTalk, to see if anybody is currently being paid. Forums are more reliable than HYIP monitors.

In conclusion, autosurfs are a fun way to make extra cash, but beware there are risks involved. It is like gambling with an advantage.

I have been seeing Megalido pop up everywhere, with great enthusiasm attached. Well I guess I must have seen the ad for the ninth time because curiosity killed the cat.  Quite frankly I was kind of turned off by the name, My initial thoughts were ” Must be some kind of Spanish site; What the hell does Megalido mean anyways?;  Autosurf, argh not another traffic exchange“. I still have no clue what Megalido means. Here is my translation of what Megalido means, Easy Money.

How does it work?

Step 1 Invest $6 ( you can invest up to $6000 daily)

Step 2 Autosurf 12 sites  a day for 12 days- When I say “autosurf”, it means just that. Hit the surf button and read your email, look at porn, or whatever else it is that you do on the internet, there are no annoying numbers or anything to click. Come back in 3-5 minutes and you are done. See what I mean by “Easy Money“.

Step 3 Day 13 get paid 144% of your investment.

The optimim earning stradegy would be to invest $6 (or higher) a day for 12 days, therefore receiving money daily from megalido. I only have $18 in the budget so I am going to go for every 3 or 4 days and reinvest until I am upgrading and getting paid daily.

You can also increase your earnings by telling your friends about Megalido. Earn 6% of your friends upgrades.

I am extremely excited about Megalido and I have probably tried 500 or more get paid to types of sites, and I know this is going to be my fave. Please join me, I promise you will not have any regrets about this one and you will be glad you got in on it early.

I could tell by google analytics that a few of my readers wanted to know how I changed the banner in my Greed wordpress theme, this may work with other themes as well.

Actually this is the only downfall of this theme where it says ” GREED OF THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS SERIES”. There is no easy way to change this.

1. Right click the banner and click “view the background image”. You will be able to view the banner only, and take note or the banner URL. Mine is like this

2. The bold part of the url is the name of the image So I saved as bg_banner.gif

3. I opened up the banner in paint and proceeded to use the large spray paint can and spray in shades of yellow, green and white until I could no longer see the words. I then saved it again ( I am not an artistic genius so I know there is probably better ways to do this).

4. I searched google for a free banner generator that allowed you to use your own background. Sorry, I can not remember which one I used.

5. I made sure to save my banner as bg_banner.gif and that it remained the same exact size.

6. Log into your Cpanel files and find the original banner by following the path of the url above I told you to take note of.

wp-content/themes/greed-09-rc2/images

at this point you should see the file bg_banner.gif- delete bg_banner.gif now upload your new file bg_banner.gif

You could actually skip the paint process in #3 and just create a banner of the same proportions. I just liked the background texture and tried my best to blend it.

Note: For Some reason my banner showed up left of center, I do not know how to fix this, but you may keep that in mind as you are designing your banner. I kind of like mine there anyways.

The Blogrush widget was very popular when it first came out a year or so ago but since then it slowly lost it’s momentum. In the beginning blogrush allowed all blogs to become a member. At some point in time they decided to up the standards and deleted around 10,000 blogs ( people were angry and spread negativity about the program). Some how my very first blog did not get cut. I put the blogrush widget on my site and never did anything else with it. I have since abandoned this blog, and I have to tell you that Blogrush has kept that particular blog alive.
The first time I applied for this blog at blogrush I was turned down. This turn down was actually an eye opener for me, it made realize I was writing a little on the sploggy side. So I went back to the drawing board and started writing about subject matter I thought the other bloggers would actually like to read. Three content driven articles later I was accepted.
I am sure you are asking yourself “So, What is blogrush and what can it do for me?”The best way for me to describe it is that is like a fancy blog roll. Every time the blogrush widget is shown on your blog, you earn a credit for one of your 12 newest articles to be shown on someone else”s blog. They try to match your content to other bloggers content, and there are also all sorts of fancy statistics of weather your articles are hot or cold.
It gets even better,There is a seven level referral program in which you earn even more traffic credits. When I put the widget on my first blog I was new to marketing and traffic so I never lifted a finger, wrote a review, or did anything to promote blogrush other than stick the widget on my blog. People joined from my blogrush widget and their efforts keep my otherwise dead blog alive.
I highly recommend blogrush, it so easy, just get approved and stick the widget on your blog and never worry about it again.

Here is a simple policy or goal to do. Post One link a day to your blog or websites. I have been doing this for a while I have a total 15 Blogs and websites now so I have widdled it down to posting links to the newer ones.

Do not analyze this information with page rank and S.E.O., just do it. It takes a while to get down the art of gracefully spreading your links. Once you craft your art it becomes second nature and you do it without thinking.

*Commenting on other peoples blogs is one way to spread your links. Like I said earlier do not think to much about S.E.O. You can comment on a blog about purple frogs, if you like the article. Just remember that your comments reflects you and your blog.

* Another way to spread your links is through forums. The best way to give your link good exposure in forums is to generally be helpful. Forums are found by people searching for answers to questions or problems. So If your suggestions or information is helpful, it will be looked at by many others with the same problem. Once again, forget about S.E.O. I am sure there are other topics you are interested in other than earning money with your blog. Here you can search forums by topic. Boardtracker.com

* Another good way to spread your links is with social networks. Most social networks allow you to have a signature line, and any comment, article or movement you make leaves a link back to your website.

Some people will tell you to only comment on high ranking websites, or ones that rank high for particular keywords. I say forget about all of that because your post will become more mechanical, and less sincere. Say no to Robotic writing.

The benefits of posting one link a day are tremendous. The whole practice teaches you to come out of your shell, and become more social. At the end of the year you will have 365 links back to your blog and maybe just as many new blog friends. People have a tendency to comment back at your blog, which really helps it look more lively. It is an all around win win situation.

Here is the report I made Zip, Zero, Zilch at Blog-Earnings.com In September 2008.  I am not worried, because this blog is just a baby. I am still getting comfortable here with my website theme, and I am still playing around with which advertisers I want to use and how they will look best on my site, so my bet is that my Blog Earnings will remain the same for October 2008. Really I am still working on content before I go for the traffic.

MLM, Pyramid Schemes, Matrix’s, are all taboo or as soon as the topic is brought up, people run for the hills because they think the devil is on the loose.

Lets face it folks MLM is everywhere in the big business world. Let me give you an example. There are 5 canned food factories across the US that you can by at rock bottom price, the only problem is you must commit to an order of 1 million cans a year plus the cost of shipping . Well obviously most retail stores can not commit to orders like this. So separately owned warehouses across the US, called disturbers buy the 1 million cans a year, mark up the price a little, then deliver the goods to several grocery stores and chains throughout the area. In some product categories there can be a chain of 5 or 6 middlemen involved before an item goes on a markets shelf.

There are many more smaller distributorships through out the US that are like this. Avon, Mary Kay, Various vitamin businesses, and recently energy drinks are being sold this way.

So now we know, that MLM is not the devil. MLM is big business and is not going anywhere soon.
The problem is finding a MLM involved with a product that you are comfortable with.

Probably the most popular online MLM is GDI. The problem I have with GDI is it involves over priced hosting and domains with a .ws extension instead of a .com and large monthly or yearly payments. My thought is this, I could instead refer someone to bluehost (through their affiliate program) and my customer would get a great deal on a hosting package, and I would get $65 right now. I would not have to find 10 more suckers to sign up just to cover my monthly expenses.

The new one in the feild is Freebie Force. I joined this one for a month, and it really annoyed me. You basically have to pay $10 a month for a discussion board of freebies. Every direct referral you sign up you get a dollar a month. I am a freebee aholic and a coupon ahaulic and this stuff has been available online free for years. If you want freebees get them here for free Volition, deep discounts here Slickdeals, shopping rebates here Cashbaq, and finally grocery savings here Hotcouponworld. I guess to me a freebee aint a freebee if you have to pay for it.

I also should tell you that FreeCardMatrix is a scam for more info on that check out his article Freecardmatrix.

I did join 1 MLM that is not to bad, the $1 Matrix. I thought, whats a buck?.  I have not had much luck getting anyone to sign up , I will admit my promotion of this program has been really minimal

In conclusion, when you join a MLM it is not necessarily the product you are paying for, but the business opportunity. I am not totally turned off to MLMs, I remain open minded. I just like to see one come along with a product that makes sense.

What is Robotic Content? Well I think robotic content is much like reviews. I am guilty of this myself, so I am by no means passing judgment on anyone

Here is the major problem, people want to be on the internet, and remain anonymous. In order to remain anonymous, we must not talk about ourselves or personal life experiences. Anonymous writers will write about topics and state the facts, but leave out the emotions or enthusiasm. Thus, the robotic blog, blah, blah, blah. If you insist on being an anonymous writer, create a online character for yourself, that has a personality.

Then there is the copycat syndrome which reeks of robotic content. Well, it happens like this Joe Blow says he is making $100 a day from some junky system. Then you think well I can make a $100 a day also with the same junky system. Next, thing you know, you have content much like Joe Blows, and everyone else whom is using the junky system.

I think that the key is in uniqueness, and striving to be leader and not a follower. Voice your true opinions weather you love something or hate it. Some people will agree with your opinion some will not, but all will be entertained. In the long run you will be admired for you trustworthiness and humanity.

I know I have juggled through first person, and second person, in this article and most of the attributes of the “robot content creator” are inspired by my own sins as a writer. I really think it takes a piece of yourself or your soul to create compelling content.

What is a splog? Well I am going to take the definition straight from the Wikipedia here

This article is about blogs designed to host spam. For spamming made through comments in legitimate blogs, see Spam in blogs.

“Spam blogs, sometimes referred to by the neologism splogs^[1], are artificially created weblog sites which the author uses to promote affiliated websites or to increase the search engine rankings of associated sites. The purpose of a splog can be to increase the PageRank or backlink portfolio of affiliate websites, to artificially inflate paid ad impressions from visitors, and/or use the blog as a link outlet to get new sites indexed.”

In my opinion every blogger splogs (some are just better at disguising it than others). Who doesn’t want to skew search engine results to get visitors? Who doen’t want readers to join affiliate programs, and click on advertisements?

There are times when a blatant splog of sorts comes in handy. I accidentally started  Blatant splogging one day, when I wanted certain information at my at my fingertips for my personal review. I wrote the program details down and included a banner, and a referral url. The thought was, I could have the program information down in one spot so I could easily copy/paste the info to blogs and articles with ease. Well the next day I logged into these programs and low and behold 22 referrals overnight. Google put me on the top of thier search engine even higher than programs website it self. So naturally I studied that post and reproduced over and over again for other programs.

I have to tell you splogging is not enjoyable at all. There is no thought process involved, what so ever it, just manual labor, and I admit I hate it. The good things are that I accomplished my original intent and have a way of viewing all my programs at once. I am able to add and subtract programs easily. Intead of writing about the programs individualy I try to use creativity and discuss the program group as a whole. It also keeps down the maintance of going to various different places I have wrote articles, and checking referral urls as program scripts change.

Another time splogs come in handy is when you are advertising on PTC sites or traffic exchanges. When you only have 30 seconds to hold someones attention, you can throw everything but the kitchen sink at them at once, lol.
