Bloggertize Review – Advertising for India
I have been asked to do a review of Bloggetize by a reader.
From what I gather from reading the website and forum, Bloggertize is selling ad space and the set up seams to target India as the market.
The current advertising fees are as follows for 3 years.
Blue 2000 pixel button $15
Green 4000 pixel button $40
Yellow 6000 pixel button $80
Red 8000 pixel button $150
These advertising spots are due to go up in price January 31, 2009.
Bloggertize is promising to put up a shopping portal/ affiliate program in the first week of April in which would be the time your ad space would go live on the shopping portal. The shopping portal/ affiliate program is promising bloggers 75 % of profits- this is where they are expecting to get the bulk of their traffic.
Pros
Cheap advertising
Targeting a niche market
Cons
Affiliate Program/ Shopping Mall- No one knows exactly what is gong to be sold here. (Personally I do not want my site advertised with scammy biz ops). The other thing to consider is the overall design of this porthole could be bad to the point that shoppers would not want to shop here.
Ad flexibility- Once you place an ad there is no way to change or sell it.
Wait time – Paying now for an uncertain start up in the beginning of April. Quite frankly it disturbs me that they have not at least started giving exposure to those whom purchased advertising slots.
Unknown information about the owner/ owners- There is absolutely no information about the owner or previous endeavors or any business name associated with with Bloggertize. This one really sends up the red flag for me.
Bloggertize seams to be very popular and many have put their trust in them by ordering ad space and there is long a discussion at Blogcatalog going on right now about them. Here is the link to the blogcatalog discussion if you are interested in what others have to say.
Personally, I would not touch Bloggertize.

Hi Sherri
Well I personally do not agree with you on many things. I have purchased adspace on blogertize for my 2 blogs. Agreed that the future is uncertain but just think if at all if this is a success, I’d regret not investing in this site. On the other hand, if its huge fiasco, I think I;ll just lose $80 that I’ve invested in the company. I think its a fair deal if one doesn’t mind taking risk.
But having said that – u are right, how the company plans to execute its business model is someting to look out for
Thanks for the review

Hey,
I’m an part time blogger and was quite impressed with the model Blogertize came out with… There are certainly some Pros/Cons with the site as of now…
I have purchased adspace worth $150 on the site and im waiting to make some moenyy on it…
Worst thing that can happen is to lose $150 dollars…oh well…I have lost way more in the stock market..so im willing to take this risk….

Thank you for stopping by Janet. I hope the majority does prove me wrong. Yes, sometimes risks do pay off, but most times they do not. A Roll of the dice.

Hi Sherri, thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my review. It’s definitely a risk, but I view it as low-risk, potential high gain.
I particularly like the business model they plan to use. I purchased $15 for adspace, but may look into purchasing a bigger pixel before the prices are raised on Jan 31st.
It’s definitely hard to predict what the future holds for a startup we have no control over. Though I had an opposite review, I can appreciate some of the points you made.
Take Care,
Brian

Your reveiw seems to be a very pessimistic one. I mean if a blogger invests $15 or even $150 for a span of 3 years, I’m pretty sure he/she is gonna recover his/her investement in a span of 3 years. Thats for sure. I do agree with you on certain issues but your review I feel is strongly biased.

I actually think my post is more realistic than pessimistic. If the ads were getting exposure immediately , I would be more inclined to say this is a worthwhile venture. If the owner of the site was proud of his doings he would be telling us whom he is and what other projects he is involved in. ( I have several businesses online and I am very contactable- my customers can knock on my door if they want.)
Yes a blogger would recoup his earnings “IF” the ad is ever displayed. Maybe I am a bit pessimistic, due to my experience of being online for 10 years and seeing programs come and go.
Thank you Michael for stopping by and voicing your opinion.
I still think it is a gamblers bet.
