There are some key factors to consider when choosing a domain name.

What is your blog or website going to be about? Okay, so lets say you wanted to create a blog about “making money online.” If you do a Google search for “making money online” you will see that the competition is fierce, and most domains with these keywords will have been taken. So the next thing to do is try to narrow the field down to a niche. Make money online with Info products, or change up the keywords like “Earn cash at home with affiliate programs”. You must realize of course your entire website must be about ” Earning cash at home with affiliate programs”, in order for it to rank well with google & friends.

There is another idea, if you have a concept so original you can create your own catch name or brand. I did this with my lingerie website, ladystrange.com. Easily remembered branding. At one time I owned kaboozle.com and was going to do something catchy with it and never did. The problem with this is that most people are not going to type these search terms in until they know who and what you are.

Honestly, I think I got really lucky with the blog-earnings.com domain name. I know that some professionals look for quality names like this and write one article with a the domain name as the keyword focus, then rank high in the search engines, and then load it with related ads. I have a little dignity though and choose to give you content instead.
